A Weapons-Grade Clown

How anyone takes Alex Jones seriously has always been a mystery to me, further proof if required that the man is an idiot on the BBC's Sunday Politics:

Well at least the BBC will take comfort in interviewing another raving lunatic against the EU thus doing more damage to the 'out' movement by association. Expect more of this the closer we get to a referendum.

  1. Err what referendum?
When was it announced and by whom?

  2. I didn't say one was announced, the Tories have promised one...make of that what you will...and there's pressure for Labour to do the same. Momentum suggests we are likely to get one sooner than later...so expect the kind of tricks above the closer we get to one.

  4. I've posted a message on the Keiser blog on this matter. Mr Jones was portrayed as an idiot. I suspect that is what the bbc wanted, but regardless, he has done the anti EU and the anti Corporatist dictatorship campaign no end of harm.

    1. In this respect I don't think the BBC did a great deal wrong, especially considering Andrew Neil consistently gives the impression he is sympathetic to being out of the EU at least.

Jones' largely dropped himself in it...partly because I think he is unaware that ranting as he does may work in the US but doesn't go down as well over here.

Much as it grates me to say it, I don't blame the BBC in this particular instance.

  6. Alex Jones touches on some things, but he misunderstands and over eggs the pudding. I see him as entertainment.

See here for a more sober view.

    1. I agree AJ touches issues that are concerning, trouble is he goes so far out on one he discredits the entire cause, for example the Y2K problem which became quickly apparent he didn't have a clue what he was talking about.

    1. Personally I think he's 'decked out' by his own wallet.
