Quote Of The Day

From the Telegraph Editorial (my emphasis):
Already the bombardment has started: Herman Van Rompuy, the president of the Council of Europe, this week insisted that Britain must be either completely in, or completely out.
Erm... wrong Council, Van Rompuy is President of the European Council. The Council of Europe is not even an EU institution.

  1. Dear Hot Frog

So many presidents. It gets confusing. Which one to choose and such confusing entities - European Council, Council of Europe. That's confusing too.

Even the President of the United States (they only have the one) allegedly gave up because he didn't know which one was the real one and so didn't meet with any of them.

He was right - it's better to dispense with them all

PS "Please prove you're not a robot".

I had to refresh three times before I could read it. I, Robert.

  2. @Anon quite agree it's confusing - you missed out Council of the European Union.

Sorry about the 'robot' bit, would love to turn it off, but get inundated by spam if I do.

  3. You would think in this day and age of 24 hours news and the internet the media would try to get their facts correct. What do they teach them at journalist training nowadays?

  4. @thespecialone Agreed, the mind boggles in truth, it only takes a couple of seconds on Google to establish Van Rompuy's position.

    It's not difficult is it...?
